Heather Locklear has taken some steps to sort out her personal life in as private a way as possible. We’ve confirmed that Heather checked herself into an in-patient treatment facility in Arizona in order to deal with anxiety and depression and reevaluate her current condition. Her rep told us quote, "She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment. This is a confidential medical matter and no further statement will be released." We wish her the best.

Britney Spears can now have sleepovers with her two boys again. This morning an LA judge granted her overnight visitations with Sean and Jayden.

On June 30th, for one night only, the new John Mayer DVD, Where the Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles, will screen at select movie theaters throughout the country. She dumped him just in time! Anne Hathaway's ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, has been arrested in New York City. He has been charged with wire fraud, conspiracy, and money laundering charges, and fraudulently representing the Vatican. That last charge is the one I’d be worried about.

STAR Artist Daughtry is taking their music to some exotic locales. Chris and the guys will perform in Jakarta, Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Singapore and Manila in the Philippines all in the next 2 weeks. Daughtry has already proven that their music is popular in the U.S. -- so why do they think it has such international appeal? Chris says, "There’s nothing complex about it. It's really just simple songwriting. Lyrics that come from the heart, that people relate to everyday life situations." So when can we expect the next album? Chris says when the band finally gets off the road, they'll record it, but he's not sure when it's coming out.

MTV confirmed yesterday that its annual Video Music Awards will, indeed, be broadcast from Los Angeles this year, as tipped Sunday by Entertainment Weekly magazine. For the first time, MTV says that fans will be the ones to decide who gets nominated. The show airs live September 7th. The host, performers, nominees and presenters will be announced soon.

More photographers have come forward to say they were involved in the melee that broke out last Saturday in Malibu when a group of surfers confronted the paparazzi and asked them to stop taking pictures of Matthew McConaughey riding the waves. When none of the photographers stopped, things got physical and one photographer told authorities he was attacked. McConaughey was not involved in the episode and no one has been charged. Simon Cowell gave fellow American Idol judge Randy Jackson a pretty sharp birthday present. Randy told People magazine Simon gave him, "a barbaric-looking sword" for a birthday gift and joked, "I don't know what part of me he wants to cut off, but that's a whole 'nother thing."

Speaking of American Idol...Being an American Idol means resigning yourself to a long-distance relationship. At a charity fundraiser over the weekend, STAR Artist David Cook told E! Online that even though he and season 2 finalist Kimberly Caldwell are still dating, they're not going to be seeing each other much in the next few months - David is preparing to hit the road for three months on the Idols Live tour. So how will the two maintain their romance? David says, "E-mail, text, all of that is pretty much is going to be my life for the next few months."

It’s back on for Lost co-stars Evangeline Lilly and Dominic Monaghan, in a big way. They’re engaged! They split briefly earlier this year, but now are planning a quiet ceremony in Hawaii, where they film the show.

And our condolences to Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough, his father, Hoke, died in his sleep Sunday morning at the age of 69. People magazine reports that Mr. Dorough had been diagnosed with lung and brain cancer in March.
